blind
for there could be no vision

no tolerance for such things in this land

no right the king has not gleaned.

climbs under shallow beds of cowardice

hope
promises
discretion
deceit
he sits in defeat at the feet of the one-eye king
afraid
self-conquered
practicing passive resistance
hiding from light
downplaying insight.
